The Boyekol-Ebale Congo 2010 expedition was organized by three Belgian research institutions: the Africa Museum, the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences and the Botanical Garden in collaboration with the University of Kisangani (DRC).
A
bout 65 researchers from several countries participated including Alberto Borges and François Darchambeau from the Chemical Oceanography Unit. This was our first sampling expedition in the Congo River that was followed by numerous others to study carbon aquatic cycling including CO2 and CH4 emissions to the atmosphere.
